In a time when teams don’t stay together for long, one team is ready to defy the odds. Managing a salary cap is tricky minefield and it seems like this team has got their metal detector. Returning for the 2021 season, all 22 of the Tampa Bay Buccs starters have signed up for round two. Last year, the Buccs became the first team to play a Super Bowl in their own home stadium. Then they added to that by winning a Super Bowl there. So, it seems like they are ready to continue creating history. The odds are most definitely against them, but not so much in Vegas. The odds makers put them at 11.5 wins for the season, lets keep in mind they won 11 last year. Looking at everything they have done this off season, it seems like they are looking forward to a season with many challenges.
fThe Road Ahead
Let’s start with the challenge of another game being added to the regular season schedule. In other sports, this would not be such a daunting thing. When you account that one game of the nfl season is a little over five percent of the schedule. It doesn’t sound like a lot but I’m sure those extra sixty minutes on the gridiron are no easy pass. It’ll be interesting to see how the Buccs (along with other teams) are able to manage the workload through another season.
Along with every other challenge that they have to go through, its the Super Bowl reigning champs stepping out on that field every week. Every team will be marking this day on their calendar (whether they admit it or not). Tom Brady coming back to cement an already astounding legacy and continue to his run towards football legend. He’ll have the same group of guys in the huddle with him. The same defensive crew that helped keep them in games throughout. All the pieces are in place for the 2021 season, all the pieces but one. With the thirty-second pic in the NFL draft, who will they Buccs take as they continue this historic run.
