NFL Week 16 picks

Vikings @ Saints (-7)

Even with Brees finishing less than 50% of his passes, the Saints was within 3 pints of the Chiefs when the game ended last week. If the Saints put half the pressure on Cousins this week as they put on Mahomes last week, the Saints will get revenge for last year’s playoff loss.

Buccaneers @ Lions (+9.5)

Buccs’ matchup against the Lions this week will be similar to the Falcons last week. The Lions’ defense will allow Brady to throw the ball all over the field. The Lions’ offense will put up a few touchdowns but not enough to match the Buccs’ offense. The Buccs need to not fall behind 2+ scores as they did against the Falcons last week. Not every team has a play-book on how to lose big leads as the Falcons do.

49ers @ Cardinals (-4.5)

After a few bad weeks, the Cardinals have started winning again, putting them in position to play wild card weekend in 2 weeks.  As long as Kyler Murray stays healthy and runs the ball, the Cardinals will outscore the 49ers. Shanahan and company are not going to answer for their loss against the Cowboys last week.

Spread Confidence (9)

Dolphins @ Raiders ((+3)

The Raiders lost to the Chargers and if it wasn’t for a terrible defensive call from the Jets, they would have lost to the worst team in the NFL. The Dolphins look very good this year and are fighting to keep the wild card spot.

Spread Confidence (9)

Giants @ Ravens (-10.5)

3 weeks ago I would have picked the Ravens to lose to the Giants. But, Lamar is back and is playing great Football. The Ravens Defense will make the Giants turn the ball over and the Offense will find ways to score.

Ravens win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (9)

Spread Confidence (7)

Bengals @ Texans (-7)

Don’t be fooled by the great performance the Bengals put up against the Steelers last week. One good game does not make the team good. While the Texans are not good at all this year, they are not as bad as the Bengals.

Texans win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (8)

Spread Confidence (7)

Bears @ Jaguars (+7.5)

The Bears wish they put Trubisky in the game sooner to have a better chance of making the play-offs. They are one game away from being one of three wild card spots and will fight their way to make sure they do their part to make it in the play-offs. Thanks to a horrendous organization named Jets, The Jaguars currently hold the number one pick in the draft. I would assume they would be smart enough not to win games at this point.

Spread Confidence (8)

Falcons @ Chiefs (-10.5)

Chiefs usually play down to their opponent and probably will do the same this week against the Falcons. The Falcons love to get a great lead on their opponents and find ways to lose that lead. The Falcons’ offense will match up great with the Chiefs’ defense and therefore it will be a high-scoring game. The chiefs will come up with a win at the end in a close game.

Chiefs win but will not cover the spread

Spread Confidence (7)

Browns @ Jets (+9.5)

Winning a game after going 0-13 does not get you out of being the worst team in the NFL. But, it makes your organization even worse. Because, by winning a game, you now will go 1-15 and also lose the number one draft pick. While the Rams may have fallen into a trap game last week, The Browns will now know to be prepared. The Browns also have a potential chance of knocking the Steelers out for their division title and will compete the next two weeks in hopes of a home playoff game.

Browns win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (9)

Spread Confidence (8)

Colts @ Steelers (+2)

Steelers’ loss to the Bengals will make this game harder for the Colts because now the Steelers can potentially not win their division and therefore they will come with everything they got. The Colts also want to win this game because the only thing keeping them from winning the division is the Titans with the same record but a better division record. While it’s a close one, I have to give the edge to the Colts considering what each team has done in the last month.

Colts win and cover the spread

Spread Confidence (6)

Chargers @ Broncos (-3.5)

It is very fair to think Anthony Lynn’s job is on the line. The Chargers are looking better in the last few weeks than they did the first half of the season. The last time these two teams played, the Broncos won with a last second touchdown. That will not be the case this week.

Chargers win and Cover the spread

Win Confidence (8)

Spread Confidence (7)

Panthers @ Washington Football Team (-1)

The Panthers are very inconsistent with their wins and losses. The Panthers’ offense will struggle against the Washington defense. Washington winning the game will depend on whether Alex Smith plays or not. Assuming smith plays, they will hold on to their division spot

Washington wins and cover the spread

Spread Confidence (6)

Eagles @ Cowboys (+2.5)

A sad game in a sad division. The cowboys have improved a lot in the last few weeks. They should have started that process a few weeks earlier for a real shot at the division. Jaylen Hurts is clearly playing better football than Wentz and will probably stay as the starter next season. While Dalton and company will put up good numbers, The Cowboys’ defense will not be able to stop Hurts’ running ability.

Eagles win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (8)

Spread Confidence (7)

Rams @ Seahawks (-1)

The rams got embarrassed last week against the Jets. They will come prepared to play this week. Unfortunately for the Rams, The Seahawks will also come to play. The Seahawks currently have the division over the Rams by one game and they will do whatever they can at home to make that a two-game lead.

Seahawks win and cover the spread.

Win Confidence (7)

Spread Confidence (7)

Titans @ Packers (-3)

Hardest pick of the week. Titans are fighting to keep their division title and the Packers are trying to hold on to their number one seed. While this will be a very entertaining high scoring game. The Titans’ defense will play better than the Packers’ defense giving the edge to the Titans.

Titans win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (5)

Spread Confidence (5)

Bills @ Patriots (+7)

The Patriots are officially knocked out of the Play-offs. The last time these two teams met, Cam Newton fumbled the ball late in the 4th quarter near the Bills’ end zone allowing the Bills to go home with a win. The Patriots are playing worse now than they were a few weeks ago and the Bills are playing much better now.

Bills win and cover the spread
