NFL Week 15 Picks

By: Tom Matthews

*Confidence scale picked for each game is from 1-10*

Chargers @ Raiders (-3)

Chargers have a 4-9 record and have only beaten teams with the same or worse record. Justin Herbert is playing great but, the team is just horrible. Raiders have not been playing the best football in the past few weeks. But, will do well against their division rivals at home.

Bills @ Broncos (+6)

The Bills have been proving their worth this whole season. Mainly, in the past few weeks. Although Drew Lock played well against the Panthers last week, he will struggle a bit more against the bills. The Bills have a better offense, defense, and coaching than the Broncos have and it will show this Sunday.

Spread Confidence (9)

Panthers @ Packers (-8)

The Panthers’ defense couldn’t stop Drew Lock last week. Aaron Rodgers will sweep the floor with them. The Packers have been playing better the last few weeks and Rodgers keeps putting himself in the MVP conversations. He will once again do that this week.

Packers win and Cover the spread

Win Confidence (9)

Spread Confidence (9)

Buccaneers @ Falcons (+5.5)

The Buccaneers have been very inconsistent this season and beat the Vikings last week by 12 points after the Vikings kicker, Dan Bailey missed 10 points worth of field goals. As hard as the Buccs make it to bet on them, nobody finds better ways to lose games than the Falcons do. As long as the Buccs balance running the ball with throwing the ball like last week, they will have a shot at their 9th win.

Buccaneers win and cover the spread

Spread Confidence (7)

Jaguars @ Ravens (-13)

Ravens and Browns put on a great game last Monday. Lamar played close to his MVP level and they went home with the win after Tucker made a 55-yard field goal late in the 4th quarter allowing the Ravens to take the lead. The Jaguars on the other hand have not won a game since week one. It will be another disappointing flight back home for the Jaguars after the Ravens embarrass them at Baltimore this Sunday.

Ravens win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (9)

Spread Confidence (7)

49ers @ Cowboys (+3)

Believe it or not, because of the divisions these two teams are on, the Cowboys currently have a better chance of making the playoffs than the 49ers. Much like the Chargers, the Cowboys have not beaten a team with a winning record. Yet, my gut feeling tells me that the Cowboys are going to go home with a win. The score will tell if that was the stupidest bet of the week or the smartest.

Cowboys win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (2)

Spread Confidence (4)

Texans @ Colts (-7.5)

A few weeks ago these two teams played and the Texans were 2 yards away from taking the lead with 1 minute left when Watson fumbled on the snap. This time Texans get to try and eliminate that mistake. Unfortunately, while the Texans might not fumble the ball, they will more than likely find some other way to lose. They will make it interesting and get within one possession late in the 4th quarter but, will not go home with the W

Colts win but won’t cover the spread

Win Confidence (9)

Spread Confidence (6)

Patriots @ Dolphins (-1.5)

The Patriots lost badly last week to the Rams. It has been a very long time since we have seen the Patriots this “lost” in a game. They couldn’t stop the Rams’ offense and had no idea what to do against their defense. The Dolphins have a takeaway in every game this season and that will not stop this week. The Dolphins will outplay and out coach the Patriots this Sunday. Never did I ever think I will say those words while Belichick was the head coach of the Patriots.

Dolphins win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (9)

Spread Confidence (9)

Bears @ Vikings (-3.5)

I picked the bears to win the last time these two teams played and lost that pick. For round two, I’m doubling down on my pick. Trubisky has done a better job at QB than Foles has this season and I think that will show Sunday. It will be another close game but this time the bears will be on top Knocking the Vikings out of play-offs hope.

Bears win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (7)

Spread Confidence (8)

Lions @ Titans (-10.5)

The Titans destroyed a bad team last week and they get to play another bad team this week. Which means another destruction is coming. While Stafford and company will make the game a little more respectful than the Jaguars last week, the Lions’ defense will struggle against Henry’s run and Tannehill’s play-actions.

Titans win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (9)

Spread Confidence (6)

Seahawks @ Washington Football Team (+5)

This is a very interesting matchup. Mainly because I’m not sure who to pick. Washington keeps improving each week and their defense is just great. Seattle steps up and win big at times but then lose random games. This will be a very close game. I think Washington’s defensive front will get Wilson a few times and keep a low score on Seattle’s end. The rest is up to Washington’s offense. I’m going with a gutsy pick here and pick the underdogs

Washington wins and cover the spread.

Win Confidence (5)

Spread Confidence (6)

Jets @ Rams (-17.5)

The Patriots put up 3 points against the Rams while giving up 24. I think it’s safe for me to say we can see that level of point differential between these two teams. Don’t think I need to say much more.

Rams win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (9)

Spread Confidence (9)

Eagles @ Cardinals (-6.5)

While many believe the Saints fell into a trap game last week, it is hard to overlook Jaylen Hurts rushing for over 100 yards while also effectively throwing the ball. I think it will be a high rushing, high scoring game by both teams. But, at the end of the day, Murray will outrun Hurts.

Cardinals win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (7)

Spread Confidence (6)

Chiefs @ Saints (+3)

Chiefs have been cutting it too close in too many games. While betting on the Chiefs has been a great bet, betting on them with the spread has not often been the best. But three points is too low to bet against them this week. The Saints will either start Hill or a not so healthy Drew Brees this week. Neither is good enough to outscore the Chiefs offense.

Chiefs win and cover the spread

Win Confidence (8)

Spread Confidence (7)

Browns @ Giants (+4)

Russ stopped cooking but Baker started Baking. Although they lost last week, Baker Mayfield had a great game against the Ravens. The Giants have a great defense but won’t stop the high powered Browns offense. I chose the Giants to win the NFC East this season and I will admit it’s not looking too pretty for me. Especially the way Washington is currently playing.

Browns win and Cover the spread

Win Confidence (8)

Spread Confidence (7)

Steelers @ Bengals (+12)

The Steelers cutting it too close finally caught up with them the last two weeks when they lost back to back games. While I do believe that the Steelers are not as good as their record suggests, they are definitely better than the Bengals. I think Big Ben will have a great game and beat the Bengals by double digits.
